Re: Give your rivals the slip in greasy pole challenge
As Head of Operations in the South East for the Health and Safety Executive and Commodore of a local sailing club, I'm delighted to welcome back the Greasy pole event in Whitstable.
Too many people use 'health and safety' as a convenient excuse to stop what are essentially sensible and fun activities going ahead.
We are not killjoys at the HSE. Real Health and Safety is about protecting workers and others from death, serious injury and ill health at work. Not ruining popular fun.
Greasy pole, ahoy!
