Businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are being invited to learn more about how they can improve their health and safety performance at two free events.
Targeted at the construction industry and organised by the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Working Well Together (WWT) Group, the two-hour events will look at the benefits of being a member of the group, as well as how its activities link to the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) priorities.
Now in its tenth year, the WWT is an industry led initiative that primarily supports micro and small businesses improve their health and safety performance.
Supported by the HSE, local WWT groups organise a number of events to share knowledge and give smaller contractors the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in improving health and safety. These include Safety & Health Awareness Days, Designer Awareness Days, and roadshows.
The two upcoming events are on Wednesday, 23 September in Hereford and on Thursday, 24 September in Worcester.
Barbara Cliff, Construction Health & Safety Awareness Officer at the HSE, said: "There are more than two million people working in Britain's construction industry but over the past 25 years, more than 2,000 of them have died as a result of injuries suffered at work. Many more have been seriously hurt or been made ill, so it is vital that companies get as much information as possible to help protect their employees.
"By joining the Working Well Together Group, those in the construction industry can work together to improve best practise, share ideas and ultimately save lives."
