HSE focuses on hearing at Interbuild 2004

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is participating in Interbuild 2004 with a stand that features an interactive hearing-loss demonstration.

Visitors to the stand will be able to experience how things sound with damaged hearing as HSE continues to raise awareness of noise as an occupational hazard. The stand staffed by HSE construction inspectors who, in addition to answering questions, will have information on the Working Well Together campaign, dermatitis and dehydration.

1. Provisional statistics from operational data indicate that there were 72 fatal accidents in the construction industry between 1 April 2003 and 21 March 2004.

2. Interbuild is a leading construction trade event at Birmingham NEC, 25-29 April 2004.
