Bodies Designated to Administer the Equipment Inspection Scheme

The Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), which currently runs the UK’s existing non-statutory National Sprayer Testing Scheme (NSTS), has been designated as a body responsible for implementing inspection systems for plant protection product application equipment, pursuant to Regulation 6(1) of the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable use) Regulations 2012.

The AEA will be permitted to retain the designation as long as, in the competent authority's opinion, it continues to implement inspection systems which comply with the requirements for inspections set out in Annex II of the Directive. The Health and Safety Executive will monitor the inspection system to ensure such compliance.
