How we work

HSE's Manufacturing Sector works with industries manufacturing pulp, paper, paper board, corrugated packaging, paper conversion and paper recyclers. We also work closely with the trades unions and trade associations representing these industries.

HSE Inspectors visit paper mills, corrugated packaging plants and paper recyclers as part of this project. This has the full backing of the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) and Trades Unions, who support these efforts to improve standards across the paper industries. Inspectors assess standards against health and safety law and the publication "Managing Health and Safety in Paper Mills".
