Status: The representative organisation for the British offshore oil and gas industry. Its members are the companies licensed by HM Government to explore for and produce oil and gas in UK waters.

Principal functions and activities: To co-ordinate policy formulation and implementation on issues affecting the UK offshore industry; to communicate such policy within the industry, and make representations to UK Government and Parliament and where appropriate to the European Commission and Parliament, on a wide range of safety, environmental, technical, operational, fiscal and legal matters.

Status: The trade association representing oil companies involved in the supply, refining and distribution of oil products in the UK.

Principal functions and activities: To represent the refining and distribution industry in communication with government, the EC, industrial and commercial bodies, media and the general public, particularly on regulatory matters affecting the industry.
