Principal functions and activities: NIIS with five research groups; mechanical and system safety; construction safety; chemical safety;physical engineering safety and interdisciplinary and human science safety, has traditionally conducted a wide range of industrial research and investigation which include the fields of occurrence mechanism of industrial accidents as well as aspects of their preventive techniques. Furthermore, the Institute disseminates its safety philosophy and knowledge of safety techniques through the institute's research publications and publicity activities.
