2. OSH-ROM

(Occupational Safety and Health Read Only Memory) HSELINE is also available on compact disc, resulting from collaboration between HSE, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (USA), the International Occupational Safety and Health Information Centre of the International Labour Organisation (General), and SilverPlatter Information Services.

Four bibliographic databases on occupational safety and health are available on a compact disc marketed by SilverPlatter as OSH-ROM. The databases are NIOSHTIC, CISDOC, HSELINE and MHIDAS (Major Hazard Incident Data Service).

The equipment required includes IBM/AT (or compatible) microcomputer with minimum 640K memory; a printer if hard copy printout is required; a CD-ROM disc drive, interface board and cables.

The annual subscription is £895 + VAT and includes updated discs issued every three months.

5. RILOSH

In June 1998 "RILOSH" (Ryerson International Labour, Occupational Safety and Health) database was added to the OSHROM disc which already contains a unique collection of worldwide occupational safety, health, fire, chemicals and environment information. The new database "RILOSH" will be added at no extra charge to the subscriber.

RILOSH database is compiled by the Ryerson Technical University Library and Information Services in Toronto, Canada, is produced as ERL Compliant database by Sheila Pantry Associates Ltd.

RILOSH is a comprehensive database of bibliographic references to the literature covering health and safety, chemical toxicology, environmental health, safety engineering, biotechnology, biohazards, workers' compensation, workplace disability issues and a broad range of labour relations, employment practices and personnel management topics.

With references to over 130,000 items from 1975 onwards, RILOSH is a valuable resource for those in the fields of occupational health and safety, and labour and employment relations. It covers periodical literature and selected books, conference proceedings and reports, mainly in English from Canadian, American and Western European (including British) publications.
