Principal functions and activities: The British Safety Council is one of the world's leading advocates of workplace health and safety.  It works hand-in-hand with its member organisations to improve their health, safety and environmental performance. The surplus from its revenue generating activities is used for public benefit initiatives such as the provision of free health and safety qualifications for school pupils and targeted campaigns and engagement to raise awareness and improve health, safety and environmental outcomes.
