Providing noise information with work equipment is an important defence against risk of noise-induced hearing loss, tinnitus and interference with communication and acoustic warnings.
Source your equipment carefully. Buy Quiet aims to reduce the demand for unnecessarily noisy equipment.
Help your customers by ensuring the manufacturer has provided information on control of noise risk and noise emission values in machinery instructions and technical sales literature as required by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. You must not supply work equipment without this information and, if the manufacturer has not provided it, you must assemble it yourself (see Advice for manufacturers). Employers need this information to help them comply with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005.
