Blackpool Pleasure Beach Big Dipper incident

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is investigating the incident on the Big Dipper fairground ride at Pleasure Beach in Blackpool last night (Tuesday 11 August 2009). An inspector visited the site yesterday evening and has returned today. Specialists will be brought in to determine how the incident occurred and whether any measures need to be taken to prevent this from happening again.

The ride remains closed while the investigation is ongoing.
