A spectator at a non-league football ground has attended matches where parts of the ground have only recently been cordoned off. He was told that he couldn't stand and watch the match in these areas because of HSE policy regarding grass banks.
There is no specific HSE policy related to spectators standing on grass banks at sports stadia. However there is other legislation which covers safety at sports grounds that may be being applied in this case. We suggest that the enquirer contacts the football club to clarify the reasons for cordoning off these areas.
