An employer has advised its employees to wear summer footwear that has an enclosed toe and supported back. The employee is querying this as it seems to be over the top for the type of work environment they are in.
There are no health and safety regulations which stipulate types of footwear for low risk office environment. If there are real health and safety concerns the company may need to provide appropriate protective footwear for its employees.
