Following advice from the Scout Association, a local scout group has stopped using a particular campsite because of sheep and cow droppings in the field.
There are potentially serious diseases that can be acquired following contact with animal faeces. The Scout Association is right to carry out risk assessments on camp sites if the field has been used recently by livestock. In some cases, camping in those fields is safe if the right precautions are taken. If they cannot, the Scout Association should find an alternative camp site.
