is the Sector Skills Council for the retail motor
industry, charged by Government and employers with leading the drive
to boost competitiveness through skills development. It is responsible
for setting the national occupational standards for the industry,
determining a strategy for assessment and creating a suit of qualifications.

Laboratory
operates as an agency of the Health and Safety Executive
(HSE), supporting its mission to protect people's health and safety
by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled.
As well as delivering a comprehensive service to HSE. HSL is also
able to offer its skills and expertise to other public sector organisations
and the private sector. Of interest to the MVR industries, is its
