BackCare is dedicated to educating people on how to avoid preventable back pain, and supporting those living with back pain. BackCare has published manual handling guidance entitled 'BackCare at work: an ergonomic guide to manual handling'. This has been produced in partnership with HSE based on research by the Institute of Occupational Medicine.

The DTI has published guidance for teleworkers. Teleworkers are workers
who work from home or on the move using information technology, to keep
in touch with their employer. The guidance on teleworking has been drawn
up by UK organisations involved in the voluntary agreement, the TUC, CBI
and CEEP UK. It is intended to provide a useful checklist of issues to consider
when implementing teleworking. It covers health and safety issues but also
other factors such as contracts, systems, information security, expenses
and allowances, tax, HR support and personal support.
