Since 2005 Humane Technology has provided a database of civil court judgements relating to Upper Limb Disorders. It is well used by health and safety professionals, lawyers and sufferers, but has been getting a little out-of-date. In 2008, HSE agreed to fund a re-design of the site and an update of the content.
All the known Personal Injury cases in GB up to the end of 2008 are now on the site. Those for 2009 will be added as transcripts become available. Cases from 1992 onwards contain a summary by Humane Technology or, with permission, from Lawtel. These will concentrate on the aspects of the case of most use to an employer or employee looking for circumstances similar to their own. For Appeal Court cases there is a non-legal case summary plus a free link to BAILII for the full transcript.
The site is easy to search; as well as being listed by date, claimant and defendant, users can also search by task, injury, industry classification, occupational classification and references to Regulations and Guidance.
