Approval of specification of fuel oil

The Health and Safety Executive hereby approves for the purposes of Regulation 27(a) of the Coal and Other Mines (Locomotives) Regulations 1956 as amended[1] only fuel oil which complies with any of the following specifications:

  1. BS EN 590: 2009 +A1: 2010 
    Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods
  2. BS 2869: 2010
    Fuel oils for agricultural, domestic and industrial engines and boilers - Specification
    • Middle distillate fuels Table 1:
      • Part 1: Class A2 - Automotive distillate fuels for non-road mobile machinery
      • Part 2: Class D - Middle distillate fuels for stationary applications 
  3. BS EN 14214: 2008 + A1: 2009
    Automotive fuels - Fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) for diesel - engines - Requirements and test methods

HSE (M) Fuel Oil Approval No 9 hereby revokes all previous HSE(M) Fuel Oil Approvals.
