During 2006 – 2007, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the UK Lubricants Association (UKLA), and AMICUS, are working together to introduce new information, about health risks from MWF and how to control them effectively.

Regional workshops in management of respiratory and skin risks.

A series of free half-day workshops around the UK, during June, July September and October 2006, providing guidance on self-assessment of your management of MWF health risks, and effective use of control measures, with speakers from HSE, UKLA, and AMICUS.

The September workshops will take place at:

  • Conference Centre, The Hawthorns (West Bromwich Albion Ground), West Bromwich, on 15 September 2006;
  • Castrol, Swindon, on 19 September 2006;
  • Hougton plc, Manchester, on 27th September 2006.

Visits by inspectors

For those not attending the workshops, a series of visits by HSE Inspectors will take place across the UK, between October 2006 and March 2007, to promote the new information and assess compliance with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) on MWF.
