Petroleum Enforcement Liaison Group (PELG)

PELG was set up in 1998 and aims to facilitate appropriate and consistent enforcement by Petroleum Licensing Authorities through the dissemination of advice, guidance and good practice.

PELG membership currently comprises of representatives from HSE, the English Regional Licensing Groups, The Welsh Petroleum Licensing Authorities, Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA), Petrol Retailers’ Association (PRA), UK Petroleum Industry Association (UKPIA), Association of United Kingdom Oil Independents (AUKOI), Dept of Enterprise, Trade, and Investment Northern Ireland (DETINI) and Environment Agency

The Group meets 3 times a year and is currently Chaired by the representative from the North East Licensing Group.  The secretariat role is currently being provided by HSE’s Policy Group.
