Regional strategic planning events- ‘Shaping Local Priorities’

You can now make a booking for the workplace health and safety strategic planning event coming to your region.  The events, sponsored by HSE/LAU and LACORS, will take place on the following dates:

London Wednesday 24 October Glaziers Hall, London Bridge
Birmingham Thursday 8 November Jurys Inn, Birmingham
Bristol  Wednesday 14 November Jurys Inn, Bristol
Manchester Tuesday 20 November The Palace Hotel
York Thursday 29 November Hilton Hotel

Events will run from 10.30am to 3.00pm.

These events are aimed at Local Authority Heads of Service, Councillors and Health and Safety Managers and will address the influence of Local Area Agreements, Local Strategic Partnerships and the impact of the Rogers Review and the Local Better Regulation Office.  There will be separate arrangements for event in Scotland and Wales, and colleagues there will hear about these shortly. 

Events will include an LA Chief Executive and HSE Regional Director presence.  A maximum of 100 delegates will be able to attend each of the events except in London, where there will be a 125 delegate capacity to allow for the larger number of local authorities represented by this region.

Last chance to submit health & safety prosecutions 2006/07 data.

It is important that HSE are aware of any prosecutions taken, whether successful or not, so that the LA prosecution statistics are accurate and reliable*.  This data will be published on the HSE website alongside HSE statistics in November. Where no prosecutions have been taken, a ‘nil return’ is required.

The closing date for submitting prosecution data, or a nil return, is
28 September 2007.

It is easy to submit this data on the Extranet. From the Extranet home page you will need to click on the ‘Prosecution’ picture and follow the instructions given on screen.
