Evaluation of the partnership

During the summer of 2008, the Local Authority Unit (LAU) of HSE commissioned PA Consulting Group to evaluate the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authority (LA) partnership. This will enable HSE to take an informed view of the contribution that the partnership can - and should - make to a new strategy.

The evaluation was conducted jointly with representatives from Local Authority Coordinators of Regulatory Services (LACORS). Local authorities and HSE in partnership [351KB] (Research Report RR680) is the output of that exercise.
