HSE's Chemicals and Flammables Policy Division are responsible for policy work aimed at reducing illness caused or made worse by work.

HSE has decided to target occupational asthma under its current programme of work. One major cause of occupational asthma is natural rubber latex as well as it being a cause of dermatitis and other skin irritations.
