Scenario axes

The health and safety scenarios were built around a scenario cross. The axes of the scenario cross, chosen by a group of health and safety professionals in a workshop, reflect:

• UK global competitiveness - on the horizontal
• People's attitudes to personal responsibility, new technology and management of risk - on the vertical

Scenario reports

The scenarios were named to reflect key features of each possible future.

Other government department scenarios

• Intelligent Infrastructure
  This project, for the Department for Transport looks at how science and technology might be applied to the design and implementation of intelligent infrastructure for transport. Outputs include a set of scenarios for 2055.
• Foresight Futures
  Published in 2002, this report contains four possible scenarios for the UK over the period 2010-2030
• Shell Energy Scenarios to 2050
  In its latest set of scenarios, Shell considers two alternative energy pathways to 2050: 'Scramble'; and 'Blueprint'
• Scenario Planning Note
