A Futures team has been established at the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) to gather and analyze information on trends and developments across a wide range of subjects and disciplines. The team calls on a variety of sources, including the considerable numbers of skilled policy and frontline operational and technical staff in HSE who are able to identify emerging issues and evaluate their likely impact.
External input is obtained through formal and informal networks and also through this website.
A high level committee, the Futures Group, oversees and directs the system and ensures that relevant information and advice are fed into strategic thinking and planning.
