As part of the 07/08 Better Backs Campaign the Health and Social Care Services Unit (HSCSU) are organising four Electric Profiling Beds (EPBs) Conferences. The conferences aim to raise awareness that under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, EPBs are now considered to be a reasonably practicable control measure for many wards and patient groups.
The HSE will host the events, supported by the NHS Employers Organisation (NHSEO). The keynote speech at each event will be delivered by a HSC Commissioner.
Attendance will be by invitation only to all Acute and Community Trusts, plus a small number of large independent care providers. The events will be of most interest to Directors of Finance, Directors of Nursing, clinical nurse specialists (tissue viability), and Back Care Advisers.
