holding time for make safe at 134 OC should read 3 minutes.
- Amendment: Carriage of specimens by road paras. 183 – 186 and
Appendix 3. The Certificate of Exemption referred to in para. 183 and
reproduced in Appendix 3 expired on 31 December 2003. Interim
certificates of Exemption have been issued and will be withdrawn when
the revised Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations come into force

- Amendment: Requirement to maintain laboratory workplaces at
negative pressure. Table 1 on page 13 states that CL2 laboratories
should be maintained at negative pressure to atmosphere, if
mechanically ventilated. This was based on the requirements of
COSHH 1999. At the time this guidance going to publication, the
requirements of COSHH 2002 were not finalised. The requirement for a
CL2 facility to be maintained at negative pressure was removed in
COSHH 2002. It is important, nevertheless, to ensure that the
laboratory cannot become positively pressurised with respect to the
surrounding environment.
The requirements to maintain CL3 and CL4 laboratories at negative
pressure with respect to atmosphere remain unchanged.
