The UK glass industry employs around 27,000 people and produces an estimated 2.8 Million tonnes of glass per year with a saleable value of approximately £1,500M.

The main causes of injury are:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)
  • Skin disease, e.g. Dermatitis
  • Respiratory disease, e.g. Occupational Asthma
