Small and medium enterprises

The new European Regulation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP Regulation) may have a disproportionate impact on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The HSC Consultative document (link to the CD) and the accompanying Regulatory Impact Assessment (link to RIA) provide more detail.

HSE would welcome the opportunity to discuss the new CLP Regulation with SMEs and to help SMEs prepare for the new legislation.  HSE would welcome in particular, ideas for practical tools and guidance on the CLP Regulation to explore in partnership with SMEs how these can best be developed and effectively targetted.
