Gas Safe Register Gas Map

In September, Gas Safe Register launched an interactive gas map which identifies the most dangerous postcodes in the country. The map reveals how many unsafe gas appliances have been found lurking in your area. It has found that one in six homes – the equivalent of 4.28 million households - had an unsafe gas appliance which could lead to a gas fire, explosion, leak or carbon monoxide poisoning. Visit staygassafe to find out about the gas dangers and risks in your area. You can also set a reminder to get your gas appliances checked annually so that you never forget to keep you and your family safe.

Follow these few simple checks to stay safe:

  • Check your gas appliances every year
Gas appliances should be safety checked once a year and serviced regularly by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Tenants – make sure your landlord arranges this.
  • Check your engineer is Gas Safe registered
You can find and check an engineer at Gas Safe Register or call 0800 408 5500.
  • Check your engineer's Gas Safe Register ID card
Make sure they are qualified for the work you need doing. You can find this information on the back of the card.
