"Work safely at height" prosecution of roofer - 26 February 2007
Following the prosecution on Thursday, 22 February 2007 of a roofer and a firm of property developers, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is warning roofing contractors and anyone involved in working at height to plan work carefully and to ensure they are using the correct equipment for safe working.

Work at Height Regulations one year on - 8 February 2007
An evaluation of the early impact of the Work at Height Regulations was published by the HSE. It helped inform the HSC's recent decision not to re-introduce the 2 Metre Rule in the Construction Sector. It also corroborates other evidence indicating the positive early impact of the Regulations with manufacturers/suppliers reporting an increase in the demand for access equipment (excluding ladders) in response to employers' application of new ways of managing work at height.
