A risk assessment is an important step in protecting your workers and your business, as well as complying with the law.
A risk assessment is simply a careful examination of what, in your work, could cause harm to people, so that you can weigh up whether you have taken enough precautions or should do more to prevent harm.
Everyone at work is responsible for health and safety: both employers and employees.
The Health and Safety Executive worked closely with the former Disability Rights Commission to produce a leaflet which promotes good practice in disability equality at work and health and safety risk assessment. This includes guidance on risk assessments for disabled people.
