Introduction
There are two parts to this section of the website:
- a searchable case study database; and
- a facility to submit your own case studies to HSE.
Case study database
The database contains case studies showing the:
- costs of an individual incident when something went wrong
('individual failures');
- total costs of accidents and/or ill-health for an organisation
('organisational failures');
- benefits various organisations gained by making changes to an individual
situation ('individual successes'); and
- benefits to the whole organisation from improvements to health and safety
management ('organisational successes').
We have provided you with a simple search facility to examine the database.
If you would like to search the case study database now, please

Submission of case studies to HSE
At present we only have a limited number of case studies to show you. We want to expand
this as quickly as possible. We would very much like to receive case studies from you to
put on the website. We would like material showing the:
- costs of occupational injuries and ill-health to your organisation; or
- business benefits you gained by making changes to your health and safety
arrangements.
Through your support this website can become a source of high quality information
illustrating:
- the costs of failures through poor health and safety management; and
- the business benefits to be gained through good health and safety management.
If you would like information on how to submit case studies to HSE, please click the
link below.
