Introduction

This consultative document sets out the proposals relating to carriage of radioactive material in Commission Directive 2001/6/EC of 29 January 2001 adapting for the third time to technical progress Council Directive 96/49/EC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States with regard to the transport of dangerous goods by rail.
