The Construction Division

The Construction Division is part of the Field Operations Division (FOD).

Chief Inspector of Construction:

The Head of the Construction Division and Chief Inspector of Construction is Stephen Williams.

Stephen was appointed Chief Inspector of Construction on 20 September 2005.

The Construction Division includes:

Operational Units:

HSE has over a hundred operational inspectors in 22 offices across the country who deal solely with the construction industry on a day to day basis.

Construction Sector:

The Construction Sector takes an active role in dealing with the industry and key stakeholders.

Technology Unit:

The Technology Unit provides specialist technical support to the Construction Division as well as overseeing research on technical issues.

Policy Unit

The Policy Unit develops new construction legislation and also deals with wider policy initiatives and links with other Government Department on construction issues.
