The Strategic Forum for Construction has launched a new industry initiative on tower cranes including guidance material. The guidance has been endorsed in a foreword by Stephen Williams, HSE Chief Inspector of Construction.
The guidance is aimed at all those involved in crane operations and provides information on occupational health management and acceptable working conditions for tower crane operators. It has been produced by representatives of different parts of the construction industry and gives a clear commitment to improving working conditions and occupational health management of tower crane operators. The guidance is simple but comprehensive and easy to adopt. It represents good practice and is a useful reference for those who are unsure of the legal requirements for occupational health and welfare.
