Worker engagement decision tool

HSE has developed a Worker engagement Decision Tool to help those responsible for managing construction workers reduce accidents and ill health. Worker engagement describes the range of ways in which workers participate in developing and maintaining health and safety arrangements on a construction site. This tool will help managers to identify whether arrangements on their sites meet minimum legal requirements, and what improvements can be made.

To use this tool, Macromedia Flash 6 or above is required and Javascript needs to be enabled in your web browser.

This Worker engagement Decision Tool is provided for use on a trial PILOT basis, as part of a development process. Please use this tool and then feedback your comments to us in the comment box provided. We want to know how useful you find this tool as a way of presenting guidance, and we want to take into account any suggestions you have in its future development.

The aim of worker engagement is to reduce the annual toll of injuries and ill health in Construction in the UK, primarily by involving workers in the identification and control of risks on a construction site.

If you are a construction manager please use this tool and let us know what you think.
