Key dates prior to implementation are:
| 17 October 2006 | Consideration of the regulatory package by HSC Update: The HSC formally approved the draft CDM regulatory package for formal proposal to Ministers. |

| January / early February 2007 | Expected Ministerial response and agreement on new CDM regulatory package |
| 27 February 2007 | ACoP published |
| 6 April 2007 | Regulations come into force |
Timetable updated to reflect resolution of minor technical issues associated with drafting the Regulations and recent changes in Ministerial responsibility for health and safety.
The CDM WG and HSE are currently developing a launch strategy and compiling a list of events and activities that will contribute to the successful launch of the package.
