The Web Site gives the locations of the Information Centres in Sheffield, London and Merseyside for personal callers who want to consult the information that is held there.

HSC/E develop and apply science and technology to provide a sound, independent knowledge base to evaluate to risks to peoples health and safety from work activities and the means to access and control these risks in order to achieve HSC/E's objectives.

This web site provides detailed and comprehensive published research, including:

It is the policy of HSE to make the results of research available, wherever possible, through publication of final reports in HSE's Research Report series. These reports will be made available for free download on HSE's website.

Hard copies of the reports can also be purchased either on-line or from HSE books.

With effect from the first printed Statutory Instrument of 1987, the full text of all published Statutory Instruments are available on the Internet via this web site. Although numbered in the same Statutory Instrument series, non-print/published Statutory Instruments, which are generally of local application, are not published on the Internet.

With effect from July 1999 those Statutory Instruments, which have been made by the National Assembly for Wales have been published via the Wales Web Pages:

The series of Scottish Statutory Instruments have been published via the Scottish Legislation Web Pages:

All other Statutory Instruments continue to be available via this web site.

The aim is to publish all Statutory Instruments on the Internet simultaneously with or, at least within 24 hours of their publication in printed form. However, any document which is especially complex in terms of its size or its typography may take longer to prepare.

The Search engine has been designed to help identify the document that is to be browsed, and will search the text of all documents on the site.
