HSE continues to monitor some of the activities of ECHA and the European Commission with regard to EU harmonised classification and labelling proposals. The GB CLP Agency (HSE) remains fully committed to continue to consider CLP scientific and technical issues that are raised by UK businesses as a result of ECHA's public consultations.

As a third country, the UK is still able to respond to ECHA public consultations. The GB CLP Agency may also submit comments on ECHA consultations, including those from other interested UK departments, agencies or devolved administrations where and when justified.

The UK chemical supply industry and other interested stakeholders in the UK have considerable experience and have helped in the development of classification, labelling and packaging legislation in Great Britain over many years.

It is important that UK chemical businesses, industry and others continue to work alongside HSE so that the classification system continues to evolve to reflect the needs of users and suppliers, to work efficiently to protect human health and the environment, and to ensure businesses are not placed under undue burden by the GB CLP Regulation requirements.

There are a number of ways you can keep informed about GB CLP Regulation updates and get involved in the development of the classification system:
