Activities
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), in partnership with the EEF, launched the UK’s European Campaign 2008-09 on risk assessment in London on 24 June 2008. The formal launch of the campaign signals the start of the European Campaign activities in the UK. Speakers at the launch event included: The UK Minister for Safety and Health at Work, Lord McKenzie, who gave a key note speech; Hugh Robertson (TUC); Gary Booton (EEF) and Tim Tregenza (European Agency for Safety and Health at Work).

There are a number of activities planned for European Week itself in October:
- Regional workshops for businesses on risk assessment
- There will also be a series of training events for safety representatives hosted by the TUC. More details will be available shortly.
