European Campaign
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), in partnership with the EEF, launched the UK’s European Campaign 2008-09 on risk assessment in London on 24 June 2008. The formal launch of the campaign signals the start of the European Campaign activities in the UK. Speakers at the launch event included: The UK Minister for Safety and Health at Work, Lord McKenzie, who gave a key note speech; Hugh Robertson (TUC); Gary Booton (EEF) and Tim Tregenza (European Agency for Safety and Health at Work).

There are a number of activities planned for European Week itself in October:
You could arrange your own European Campaign activities throughout the year. For further ideas and information you can download a campaign Action Pack, which contains a range of HSE guidance materials on risk assessment, plus various campaign materials produced by the European Agency, such as guidance factsheets and a poster.
Alternatively, a limited number of Action packs in hard copy will be available for distribution and are subject to availability. You can request these by contacting: hsebooks@prolog.uk.com, quoting MISC837, with the following information:
Please note that there is a limit of 30 per applicant. If you require more Action Packs, please write to us with information about the number you require and a distribution plan for the Action Packs. Components are not available separately from HSE Books although you can download them from the Resources page.
Please note that it may take up to 10 working days for processing and delivery of the Action Packs – a notice period of at least 10 working days should be provided to guarantee delivery on time.
Alternatively, you can telephone HSE Books on 0800 0850050 or fax them on 01787 313995.
Tell the European Agency of Safety and Health at Work what you did during the European Campaign to receive your own personalised Certificate of Participation in recognition of your commitment to the campaign.
