Organised by BOHS London South and South East region, in conjunction with the SCI Health and Safety Group, the seminar programme features two presentations from the Health and Safety Laboratory, Buxton (an agency of the HSE):

• Evaluating the protective effect of surgical masks against airborne influenza virus:
  Jonathan Gawn investigates how well a surgical mask will protect frontline health care workers against aerosolised influenza
• Biological Monitoring for Occupational Hygienists:
  Dr. John Cocker explores the roles for biological monitoring and illustrates its utility and aspects to consider when creating a biological monitoring programme.
