Improvement Notices

2 One centre has received an Improvement Notice.
In March 2003 an Improvement Notice was issued to Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust for a breach of Regulations 17(1) and 18(1) of the Genetically Modified Organisms (Contained Use) Regulations 2000. The arrangements for safe storage of genetically modified micro-organisms were not sufficient to reduce the exposure of humans and the environment to the lowest reasonably practicable level. The date for compliance set in the notice has yet to be reached.
