The ACGM Annual Report and an invitation to participate in the GM Science Review were recently sent to GM centres by e-mail. However, there are many GM centres for who we do not have an e-mail address. In the process of updating the mailing contact details, we contacted many GM centres and found that the mailing contact or BSO had left the organisation and that we had not been informed of the changes.
Regulation 15(2)(a) of the Genetically Modified Organisms (contained use) Regulations 2000 requires users to send formal notification in writing of changes to information supplied to the Competent Authority as part of either premises or activity notifications. This includes administrative changes (which are free), such as changes to people responsible, a change of BSO, address/premises changes, closure of facilities, cessation of notified activities and changes of mailing contact details.
Please note that personal details, including e-mail addresses are confidential under the Data Protection Act and will only used for the purposes of sending GM information or contacting the GM centre. The e-mail address will not appear on the public register, nor is it accessible to other notifiers.
Failure to inform the Competent Authority of changes in details causes delays in the Competent Authority providing you with information.
Details of any administrative changes should be sent to the
