ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER CHANGES TO NOTIFIED INFORMATION

1 The Genetically Modified Organisms (Contained Use) Regulations 2000 require notification of administrative and other changes (which do not affect the risk assessment) to previously notified information. Unlike the notification of significant changes, there is no fee.

2 You need to inform the Competent Authority when changes occur to such notified information as:

• the premises names, address, telephone, fax and e-mail details;
• details of the GMSC;
• address of the premises where the work is to be carried out and general description of those premises. If you add a new site to your centre you have to let us know;
• any new building, including where it is covered by the existing premises address;
• where the premises are no longer being used for GM work or where GM work is recommencing;
• where an individual activity (or connected programme) has ceased;
• changes in the person named in a notification as being responsible for the supervision and safety of activities and their training/qualifications;
• when claims for confidentiality are no longer valid (For instance the work has been published.);
• we also request that you inform us of any changes to the contact's details.

3 Updating such information can normally be done by means of a letter or e-mail. Personal details are automaticlly confidential under the Data Protection Act. There is no need to claim confidentiality. For other details, normal rules of disclosure apply unless a claim for confidentiality and the justification for it are accepted by the Competent Authority.
