Information for employees and safety representatives working for licence-holders

Your employer must provide you with the following:

• Suitable respiratory protective equipment or 'RPE’ (masks) and personal protective clothing and footwear
• You should be given a face-fit test for all RPE to make sure that it works properly
• A biannual asbestos medical and associated Health Record
• A copy of your training certificate
• Annual refresher training

You have the following responsibilities:

• Follow safety procedures set out in the method statement for the job
• Tell your supervisor if there are any problems with the way that the work has been planned
• Don’t take short cuts!  It is you and your family that may be exposed to asbestos if you do.
