Provisional fatal injuries statistics for 2004/05 show that 38 people were killed by agricultural work activities between 1 April and 31 December 2004 – almost double the number compared to the same period of 2003/04 (21).
Of the 38 people killed; 17 were self employed, 19 were employees and 2 were either family members or friends assisting in a works activity.
