The Offshore Industry Advisory Committee (OIAC) is a tripartite committee. OIAC includes members representing employers, employees, unions, trade associations and other government departments. Although, no longer an official HSC advisory committee it continues to provide an important forum for the discussion of health and safety matters in the offshore industry.

OIAC continues to have two permanent subgroups the Helicopter Liaison Group (HLG) and the Workforce Involvement Group (WIG).

WIG looks specifically at ways in which to increase worker involvement in health and safety matters.

HLGs role is to advise OIAC on the development and operation of the safety regime for offshore helicopter operation under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and its subordinate legislation, and on any safety related matters.
