The next meeting of the Nuclear Safety Advisory Committee (NuSAC), to be held on 3 July 2008, will be open to the public. It will take place at the Health and Safety Executive's offices, Rose Court, 2 Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HS.
The Role of NuSAC
The role of NuSAC is to advise the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on:
- matters which are referred to it or which it considers require attention regarding nuclear safety policy and its implementation at nuclear installations;
- and the adequacy and balance of HSE's nuclear safety research programme.
The Health and Safety Executive is committed to openness and accountability.

Conduct of the NuSAC Meeting
Members of the public and press are welcome to observe the meeting itself, although while the Committee is in session it will be unable to answer questions from the public.
After the meeting, there will be a Question and Answer (Q & A) session; questions will have to be submitted to the NuSAC Secretariat in writing before the meeting. The Chair will ask questioners to identify themselves and the organisations they are associated with. Where there is not enough time to answer a question, a written reply will be sent to the questioner.
Members of the public will not be permitted to bring placards, banners or notices into the meeting room, and permission must be sought for photography, video or sound recording.
