Scientific Advisory Committee on Genetic Modification (Contained Use), (SACGM(CU))

Meeting agendas, papers and minutes

SACGM (CU) replaces the esteemed Advisory Committee on Genetic Modification (ACGM) together with its Technical Subcommittee (TSC). ACGM, and latterly TSC, played a key role in the development of the comprehensive and highly successful legislation now in place for the contained use of GMOs. Careful consideration has recently been given to future advisory requirements in relation to GM contained use activities and it has been concluded that the emphasis is now on obtaining independent expert scientific/technical advice for the UK CA on specific GM notifications and related issues. SACGM (CU) came into effect on 1 January 2004.
